Hey y’all! It’s time for me to make a proper apology for my crappy posting regimen. I wouldn’t be surprised if most of you (like, say, three) have given up on me and headed for more entertaining climes.

But those of you who are left are in for a treat! (OK, not really.) First of all, I’m going to tell you what has really been keeping me from posting more often (no, it’s not that flesh-eating disease), and secondly, I’m going to announce a site re-launch. I may have spoiled the surprise a bit, but please, keep reading.

OK! So, over the past few months, I’ve been insanely busy (keeping in mind that I am a lazy fucker, so ‘insanely busy’ translates to ‘out of bed before eleven several days a week’) trying to set up my own online business. Businesses, actually. The basic gist of my efforts is to prevent myself from ever having to take public transport to work ever again. Specifically, I’ll be selling website templates and web design services (don’t laugh; I’ve gotten much better), as well as trying to promote my graphic design work.

Naturally I thought I could get everything up and running within a few weeks of having this brilliant idea. (I’m awfully naïve for a pessimist.) Not surprisingly, it has turned out to be an insane amount of effort and a steep learning curve, and is taking much longer than I thought as well as occupying my thoughts every waking fucking moment of every day. I didn’t know I could devote so much time and energy to something that isn’t directly detrimental to my liver.

Anyhoo, part of my business plan is to promote myself through my blog. Don’t worry; I won’t be planting links and ads everywhere. What I will be doing is posting much more often, and starting a new section, updated daily, for my photographs and artwork, as well as adding a link to my CafePress store, AND a link to my very own graphic and web design business. I’ll also be redesigning the site, adding things like a proper comments feature and an RSS feed (which everyone else has now had for years).

So there you have it. New year, new Groovy Decay. Stay tuned: I’m aiming for next week for the relaunch.
